The newest addition to our stable, Arties Gem was a private purchase from Michigan. She has an unusual resume in that she started racing at 3, sustained an injury at 4 & was bred, had a foal at 5, and then returned to racing at age 6. Though she doesn't have many starts in her career she has plenty of experience as she raced
at 13 different tracks before arriving at our new base of operations at Saratoga, New York.

|
Arties Gem presented us with a win by 5 1/4 lengths in her first start for Kennebec Pace Club so we are looking for some good times ahead for this mare.

Arties Gem update: Beginning with the 2008 racing season, Saratoga Raceway changed their minimum claiming price from $4,000 to $5,000. Since Arties Gem can't compete in that higher class we
brought her back to Maine where she will be allowed to race locally. She is 11 years old now and will be closing out her racing career here.

Arties Gem Update:
On August 9, 2009 Arties Gem ran her last race at Topsham Fair. She came out of the race with a suspensory injury. At 12 years of age the chance of a successful return to racing isn't very good so we decided to retire her. After a period of healing she will be sent to the breeding shed to begin her second career as a broodmare.
