Mamie´s Flyer was bought in September of 1981 as a private sale for $500. He was racing in $750 claimers and his trainer told us he was a rat

We raced him in $750 claimers and he won. He then proceeded up the claiming ladder through $800, $1100, $1300, $1500, $2000, $2500 and $3000.

Mamie had a definite style of racing in that he always came from behind. He would hardly ever get a call from the race caller until they reached the 3/4 mark and then you knew he was in the race. I think he inherited his racing style from his sire, Flying Bret.

			Mamie's Flyer was one of the most exciting horses we ever owned. His most effective racing style was to come from the back of the pack on the last turn and it provided us with lots of thrills.


	Mamie developed suspensory problems and was reluctantly retired.
