Gaelic Nike was purchased as a Maine Breeders Stakes eligible yearling at the MSBOA Breeders Sale at Scarborough Downs in September of 1986 for $3,400. A nice looking yearling with good size, Nike never saw a veterinarian until he was three years old. He was competitive in the Breeders Stakes and was eligible for the Stakes Finals both as a 2 year old and as a 3 year old. 

Gaelic Nike was a good hard working race horse until he came up with suspensory problems and was retired to become a riding horse.
