Why this web site?
Back in the mid ‘60s I was watching a pop music show on TV
(It may have been Dick Clark’s American Bandstand or could have been Hullabaloo or Shindig) when I heard the introduction, “Ladies and Gentlemen, Miss Marianne Faithfull!” She quietly walked on stage and sang her song.
No fancy set, no flashing lights, no choreography, she just stood there and sang her song.
I remember saying to myself, “My God she is good!” and I have been hooked ever since.
